Mission

moonOur Mission
We provide young women in crisis and their family's time out from pain, a start on the road to recovery and the tools with which to continue to heal and grow.  We dedicate our energy and resources to producing physically healthy, socially mature, morally aware, environmentally conscious, self-actualized young people. Our goal is the reintegration of the child into the family and community.

Our Philosophy
We see the crisis that often precedes and accompanies this process of growth as the catalyst for the greatest adventure in life—the adventure of finding one’s true self.  This means that struggles are merely steps in the pathway to a balanced fulfilling personal identity.  We support every human’s right to find their true nature; we are committed to providing our students and families with quality counseling, education and recreation within an extended family setting.  We support the family and guide the child through the difficult process of adolescence by providing a rounded educational experience that leads to integration with society and engagement with the family in a responsible caring manner.

The philosophy, principles and practices of Mission Mountain School are consistent with a free, open and humane society.  We encourage free and open inquiry.  We admit girls of any race, color, religion, and national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. We do not discriminate by race, color, religion, gender and national or ethnic origin in the administration of our hiring practices, educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, or athletic and other school administered programs.

Our Vision
Our vision is the creation of an intentional educational community that celebrates and supports the adolescent woman’s journey to find true self.
